The Article

Actually this story was one of my favourites and i really wanted to give it as an article in my school magazine. The fact is that i read it when i was in 2nd or 3rd.(The fact that i still remember it is enough proof of just how much i enjoyed it at that time..)Its not like i never had the chance to submit it.Hey,I was the editor of Aviral in 11th :) Its just that as i matured,i realised that this article from me was just NOT acceptable in the school magazine, unless one of my deepest desires was to become a laughing stock in front of the entire school..

I always wanted to tell my friends the story but never really got a chance. Now that i have a whole blog dedicated to my nonsense,I guess this is it!!
so here it goes-
"Once upon a time (stories u read in 2nd or 3rd often start this way),there was a very rich man.He was travelling the countryside. As it was getting dark and he really needed some rest,(yeah, rich people are spoilt!!) he decided to halt at the next stop for the night. The nearest stop he could find turned out to be a monastery. So he asked the monks there if he could spend the night there. The monks were more than willing. So he was shown into a room he could take up for the night. He had his food and went off to his bed.As the night intensed,he heard some weird and scary noises from outside his room.Really close.Infact too close for comfort.
So he decided to go out and explore.(sorry i forgot to mention that he was dumb..)As he went about the monastery trying to figure out the source of this creepy sound,he found a huge iron door.He tried to open it but realised it was bolted.(as i mentioned earlier-'dumb') From the other side he heard horrible sounds-scratching,clawing and then a loud and a deep scream. This was the last straw for him and he ran away, frightened out of his wits.He decided to play it safe for the night and slept off uneasily.
The next day he woke up anxiously and went off to search for a monk who could answer his questions. He asked the first monk he found about the mysterious happenings at night. The monk gave an inscrutable expression and asked him to ask the abbot (thats the head monk) about it.
The man, bitten by the curiosity bug,set off to look for the abbot.Once he found him,he repeated his questions. The abbot gave a very grave expression and told him that he could not be told about it since he was not a monk. The man's curiosity was now aroused. He asked the abbot if he could also convert to a monk. The abbot smiled and told him that it would be difficult for a man like him who was so used to the worldly luxuries. The man vouched to do all that the abbot asked him to do.
The abbot complied and told him that he would have to give up all the leisures and luxuries he used to enjoy. He would have to give away all he had and come and live in the monastery. The man agreed and went away for a year to sell off all his worldly possessions. He donated all his money in charity and finally, returned to the monastery, with a determination to finally unveil the mystery.
The abbot was mighty pleased(obviously!) and straightaway, led him to the iron door the man had seen a year back, which had been the cause of all that had followed. The man again heard the noises he had heard that day.Fear gripped the him tightly. He didn't know what to expect. All the monks were called and they all stood around the door forming a semicircle with the monk and the abbot in the middle.By now,the man was now all jittery n restless. The abbot produced a huge iron key and unbolted the iron door.Behind it stood a heavy wooden door.Followed by another heavy iron door.As the doors opened up progressively the noises intensified, scaring the man even more.
Finally, the abbot unlocked the last door and unleashed the terror behind it.What the man saw next  made him turn deathly white and he collapsed on the floor letting out a loud, piercing scream..
