Traversing life as it comes,
I can't see a beginning or an end
What the future holds is unknown,
Whatever lays on the road ahead is beyond the bend.
I try to peer into the distance,
But drops of mist cloud my vision
Fate guides me along my path,
And impresses upon me the futility of my attempts.
My mind tells me not to be so inquisitive,
To let things come at their own pace
But when I open my eyes and look around,I realise
Life is no longer a journey,it is more of a race.
The other players in this sport,
All trying to cheat in this game
Trying to see the path ere they take it,
Compelling me to do the same.
I loathe this rat race,I am not a willing contestant,
But my grumbles are lost in the crowd
And my feeble protests won't make a difference,
For the grander scheme of things can't be changed single-handedly.
But I realize I can start with myself,
And stop racing ahead of time
Take time out to smell the roses,
And enjoy a life I can proudly call mine.
I can't see a beginning or an end
What the future holds is unknown,
Whatever lays on the road ahead is beyond the bend.
I try to peer into the distance,
But drops of mist cloud my vision
Fate guides me along my path,
And impresses upon me the futility of my attempts.
My mind tells me not to be so inquisitive,
To let things come at their own pace
But when I open my eyes and look around,I realise
Life is no longer a journey,it is more of a race.
The other players in this sport,
All trying to cheat in this game
Trying to see the path ere they take it,
Compelling me to do the same.

For the grander scheme of things can't be changed single-handedly.
