News bulletins

'A little progress everyday, adds up to big results.'
I have no clue why I am writing this here, but this is the one quote that is occupying my mind right now. Maybe it's the Lokpal bill and all the controversy surrounding it.
So, the fast has finally ended. Good for Anna. Good for the Government. Good for the country. And the lokpal bill has been passed. Good for ..  the country.
Writing it down like this sort of highlights the fact that what Anna did was so very unselfish, and indeed (pardon the HP terminology here) for the  'Greater Good'. I, myself, considered him as no more than an attention seeker and his antics as gimmicks to hog the limelight. Quite blatant, but true. And now, suddenly, I seem to have a new found respect for him.
Why? For the sole reason that my initial impression of Anna was through secondary sources. Not once had I myself checked out the new article in the paper or seen the Anna clips being flashed in the news. Also, being in the city where it is all happening is an added special effect, which can convince you. Seeing protesters in blood and flesh roaming the streets near the Ramlila Ground this saturday, impressed upon me the fact that if so many people could be convinced by this man to the point of coming out in the open to protest, his argument hold some weight. Also, thankfully, by that time, I had deigned to open up the newspaper and check out the details regarding this issue. So, my new found awareness, combined with the visuals of truckloads of Anna supporters waving the tricolour, finally enlightened me to the necessity of the growing revolution against corruption. And in my opinion, this should have started much earlier. Before things like the 2-G scam could take place. But of course, that is being ideal. It's never too late to start.
Also, now Anna is going to demand the 'Right to recall' and 'Right to reject', and I strongly believe in the requirement of both. Just one glitch, the voting turnout would have to improve to put things into action. If we demand for a recall of an elected member, we should also be the ones who elected him in the first place.
I could go on and on on this topic for hours. But, alas! Work beckons. So, abandoning the post here. Similar topics would be taken up in consecutive posts.
